‘Halt and Catch Fire’ episode 5 preview: One more look at ‘Adventure’
When “Halt and Catch Fire” comes back on the air Sunday night, it’ll be doing so with an episode that should be a great adventure. How do we know that? The name’s in the episode’s title!
The only thing that we are worried about here is that the show may eventually get into a rut when it comes to its structure. We know that Joe is a schemer who gets into struggle, just as we know that Cameron is a rebel who likes to keep her guard up and not confirm to authority. This is why there is almost nothing in this official synopsis that surprises us at all:
“Cameron chafes under new management; Joe and Gordon try to obtain an important piece of technology.”
What we’re hoping to see Sunday is something that is not mentioned here, and that is more of Donna’s own brilliance. She established herself finally last week as a brilliant woman who somehow has most of it together, and she made the active and human choice to have a family rather than go crazy over coding or any one project. But how will her continued clashes with Gordon, and her own job, further their relationship? She is at the point of losing everything just because she is stretched so thin, and this is something that will need to be explored further in order for this story to be fully effective.
Just as you would expect, there will be a new review of this episode come Sunday night. Stay tuned!
