‘Orphan Black’ season 2 finale: Tatiana Maslany on Ari Millen twist
While there have been quite a few surprises throughout the two-season run of “Orphan Black,” we don’t quite know that there has been a game-changer on the same exact level as what we saw last night before. The entire premise of the show so far has been around the various clones of Sarah, and now that we know a thing or two about Adam’s own status, this changes almost everything.
So what was the reaction of Tatiana Maslany after learning that Ari Millen was about to have a Clone Club of his very own? It was pure joy on her part to be able to see so many different dimensions of someone else. In a post-finale interview with Entertainment Weekly, she had the following to say about it:
“I was so, so, so excited. Ari, who plays Mark and now a bunch of the other guys, has been such an incredible addition to our show, and I think we all were really blown away by his work. He has so much commitment and so much depth and is so compelling to watch on camera. So when they came to me with that idea of having Ari play those characters I was like, ‘Oh my God! Absolutely! It would be silly not to mine his talent. He is so fantastic.'”
While we don’t necessarily want to sit here and say that a season 3 for the series is assured, it feels almost like something the actors are pretty confident in based on their responses in various interviews right now. Given the improvement in the ratings, even without a “Doctor Who” lead-in, it seems like not picking the show back up would be a mistake. After all, it also draws large numbers with DVRs.
