‘The Bridge’ season 2 spoilers: How all parties get involved (again)
One of the challenges for the makers of “The Bridge” going into this upcoming second season is ultimately rather simple: How in the world do you work to ensure that Marco Ruiz and Sonya Cross team up again on another case, and how do you keep the theme of the show intact? Season 1 relied on this very “perfect storm” scenario where both the United States and Mexico could claim at least partial jurisdiction over aspects of the case, and there were sensible reasons for them to work together.
Hopefully, the series will not waste a whole lot of time in getting us into this frame of mind again, and it certainly doesn’t look like we will based on what we know now about the second episode of the season. Per SpoilerTV, this episode is titled “Ghost of a Flea,” and the synopsis below gives you a reasonable idea of what to expect:
“A bizarre killing attracts attention on both sides of the border. Frye & Adriana find more than they bargained for with their first lead. Eleanor enlists the help of a young boy.”
The interesting part of this to us is that Frye and Adriana are the two characters mentioned first in this release, and neither Sonya nor Marco are. That is probably just coincidental, but it is nice to see that these two characters will continue their strong run on the show. Matthew Lillard was extremely underrated throughout season 1, and we feel like he is at least deserving of more Emmy buzz than he has received as of late.
