‘Dancing with the Stars’ 19: Is Maksim Chmerkovskiy really done as a pro?
Is the end of the road here for one of the participants on “Dancing with the Stars“? We have to at least consider it a possibility now, as one of the show’s most-popular professionals in Maksim Chmerkovskiy is once again considering signing off from the competition after spending a year away before this most-recent comeback / victory with Olympian Meryl Davis.
Speaking to TV Guide, Maks stopped short of saying that he wants to leave the show, or that there is even any ill will between him and ABC. As a matter of fact, it seems to be the opposite following what may be his best overall experience with the program to date. The only reason that he may be considering saying goodbye is simply due to questions as to whether or not there is anything left in him that he hopes to accomplish:
“I personally don’t see myself doing it again. … I don’t need to win the show multiple times to be satisfied. I need excitement. I hope I brought people happiness they were looking for when they were tuning in. … Whether I come back or not, it’s not up to me. Maybe tomorrow something will change and I will say, ‘Let’s do this again.’ But I really don’t see that happening.”
We still feel like Maks is going to be involved in the show one way or another moving forward, whether it be as another guest judge or a guy who just shows up occasionally to support his brother Val or his good friend Tony Dovolani. There is no reason for him to abandon the franchise at all after it helped to turn him into a household name.
From a personal standpoint, we want to continue to see more and more of Maks moving forward. We understand that some hate him, but for our vantage point he is instant entertainment and at times just what the doctor ordered when things start to drag.
Would you be bummed out to see a “Dancing with the Stars” without Maksim on board? Let us know below, and head over here if you want to get some further updates worth dancing about via our official newsletter.

I will miss him a lot if he leaves because he has always been my fav male pro dancer. However, if Len leaves, I’d love to see him take his place in the judges chair.

honestly i dont think it would be a bad thing for him to leave. I loved watching him and meryl win this year but sometimes its good to move on.
