‘Doctor Who’ season 8: Peter Capaldi’s premiere date will come in August
When is “Doctor Who” season 8 going to officially premiere? While the BBC is notorious when it comes to how they wait to make premiere dates official, we can at least hand off a little bit of news to you now: Peter Capaldi will be on your TV sets in both America and Great Britain this August.
The network confirmed the news today that August would be when Capaldi comes on the air, and this should not be much of a surprise to anyone who has followed the show as of late. Given that we were already teased with a 13-episode season, and also news that there would be no break between episodes, this is when the show would have to premiere in order to get done in time for there to be a little break between the end of season 8 and the new Christmas Special (which is quite the tradition for the series).
In addition to Capaldi, Jenna Coleman will also be back for another run as Clara, and you can expect a slightly different dynamic with Capaldi’s 12th Doctor than she did with Matt Smith’s #11. There will be many more twists and turns thrown their way, and also some other things that are considered to be classic “Doctor Who.” For example, you are going to see a number of the familiar characters and villains that you’ve seen on the show over the years. At the same time, though, there will also be some new faces and potential alien races thrown in there, as well.
