‘The X Factor’ notes: Hear Alex & Sierra – ‘Scarecrow’ snippet; see Rough Copy video
There are a couple of “X Factor” stories worth reporting on right now, but we shall start with the one that we know will make fans of Alex & Sierra especially happy: A first look at their new song “Scarecrow.”
The two performed a little snippet of the song during their Livestream earlier this week, which of course someone put on YouTube. It’s a catchy tease of the song, which is going to be coming soon. You can see that the two are starting to amp up their promotional tour, and that means that new music is going to be on the way very soon. Stay tuned; by this point, you should probably know that we are going to have more news for you the rest of the way.
Now, we turn to another video that is definitely full-lengthy: The new “Street Love” video from Rough Copy. So what do we make of it? It’s pretty complicated, mostly because we’ve already professed many times to not being the biggest fans in the world of the song, which strips them of some of the vocal talent that we saw from them throughout this past season of the show.
With that being said, we understand why there are going to be many out there who like the song and the video. It’s very much in the “now” as far as pop music goes, and the trio bring the same sort of energy here that they did to the stage. In the end, though, we feel like they are going to appeal to the widest demographic by getting back to some of the harmonies without the help of all the computer effects.
