‘Supernatural’ season 9, episode 22 preview: Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Tessa the Reaper

Tonight on “Supernatural,” we had a mouthful of an episode that also delivered a gut-punch in the shocking death of an important character. If you haven’t seen the hour yet, then you should probably stop reading now. Otherwise, you run the risk of some pretty hefty spoilers.

So Abaddon is now gone, and this certainly gives Crowley the power when it comes to Hell. However, this episode is not really about that so much as the opportunity to focus a little bit more on the attempt for Castiel and company to take back Heaven. Also, a guest from the past returns! Take a look at the synopsis below for more:

“After a massive attack on the angels, Castiel (Misha Collins) calls Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) for help. As they leave, Dean’s eagerness to bring the First Blade doesn’t go unnoticed by Sam who is worried about the cost to his brother whenever he uses the Blade. Meanwhile, Castiel is shocked when he learns the angel that caused the attack was one of his followers and did it in his name. Dean discovers there is a conspiracy amongst Castiel’s angel followers and at the heart of it is Tessa, the Reaper.”

The promo below makes it a little clearer into just how bad things are going to get for Castiel and his army, which is falling apart so quickly that you would think that it a reality TV alliance … or dignity to anyone who makes a twerking video on Instagram. In the end, this just looks to be a pretty darn exciting hour of TV.
