‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10, episode 21 review: Did Alex decide to leave the hospital?
What happened on “Grey’s Anatomy” this week? This ended up being an hour stuffed full of relationship drama, career decisions, and also unflinching rage about the fact that Cristina didn’t end up winning the major award she deserved to.
This fact was made even clearer when it was revealed just why Cristina didn’t win the award, and it was possibly the worst reason ever: Politics. Nobody ever wants to fall victim to such a thing, but it is precisely what happened here as she had to deal with the fact that her status at the Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital is what ended up getting her in trouble in the first place. Politics can be a cruel, cruel thing, and they certainly were to her here as she had to start to come to terms with the fact that her time at the hospital was nearing its end. Nothing was confirmed through this story, but we had almost everything we needed to know.
This episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” also touched on the future of Alex in the hospital, and the best way to describe that is “no-go.” He doesn’t want to be there anymore, and you can hardly blame him given just how much money he can make doing work at a smaller practice. This means great opportunity ahead for both him and Jo … if he is actually happy there. There are a few episodes left this season, which correlates to mean plenty of opportunities for him to change his mind. Grade: B.
