‘Shark Tank’ preview: Crio Bru, Mo’s Bows, and a Marz Sprays update
This Friday, “Shark Tank” is returning with yet another new episode, and we have to say that the lineup of products is certainly eclectic. You have a little bit of everything from fashion products to food, and we’re going to highlight two brands that we feel are particularly interesting for the show to take a look at.
Before we do anything else, though, we have to start as always with the official synopsis of the hour from ABC:
“An 11-year old fashionista from Memphis, Tennessee has already captured Oprah’s attention with his line of hand-crafted bow ties for people of all ages which he makes with his family members. But can he cut a deal in the Tank with Daymond John or another Shark? Two men from Linden, Utah present their new hot beverage made from roasted cocoa beans roasted like coffee which is packed with antioxidants, and a college student from Provo, Utah created his own blend of nutritional supplements to help focus, mental agility, and overall brain health. Two Boston men operate a popular 5K obstacle course race series in 20 cities that features 100′ foot water slides, fire and water hazards, as well as other “epic” obstacles. Will the Sharks buy in? Also, an update on Brandon and Keith Marz from Van Nuys, California, Leander, TX and their Marz Sprays, oral vitamin atomizers which are a tasty, easy way to get daily nutrients, in which Lori invested last season. “
We start with Mo’s Bows, which is a business seemingly catered for Daymond to invest. After all, it is a kid selling bow ties in order that suit his own personal style! This should be in theory that sort of product that could do well, but the drawbacks here are simple. There’s nothing really original about the bow ties other than the designs themselves and that the man behind them is actually still a boy; also, they run a little upscale at around $60 for the average consumer. If you do have enough to pay that much for a bow tie, you probably already have your desired shops figured out.
Also, we have Crio Bru, a product that is basically brewed cocoa that contains natural antioxidants as well as energy. This is an interesting product, since we haven’t seen anything like it on the market before. It is a little expensive at around $15 for each package, but that’s not too ridiculous or out of the realm of what you pay for premium coffee. The larger question is if the sharks want to go the journey with a product that consumers are this unfamiliar with.
