‘NCIS’ season 11 spoilers: Boss on Pauley Perrette storyline, back-to–basics approach
As we near the end of “NCIS” season 11 and look towards the future, what is the show going to try and focus on? This is a question that we hope to shed at least a little bit more light on now.
The first thing that we have to take some stock in here is that the producers really want to bring the show back to what are some of the basic elements that made it successful. That means character-driven stories that can make you laugh, but also show you more of the heart and the emotion behind these people. This begins on Tuesday with “Shooter,” a story that gives Pauley Perrette’s Abby a good bit to do.
In referencing this story in particular to TV Fanatic in a new interview, show boss Gary Glasberg sets up his plan for the end of last season, and also the beginning of season 12 when it comes to characters:
“We’ve got some really talented, gifted actors on this show and anytime we can put them into situations that stretch them a little bit, we look forward to doing that. These last episodes for the entire cast gives them the opportunity to use some muscles that they don’t get to use all season long. My goal with these last episodes, and this is true of Season 12 as well, is to really focus on the team and get back to the basics, as they call it, of the stories and why people watch NCIS. The emotion, the characters…that’s what these episodes will focus on.”
In theory, we like the idea of having more isolated, character-focused stories, but it will all depend on if they are completely original, and bring something refreshing to the table.

I would like more action, fast paced stories. Never more than two episodes though as it tends to get drawn out too long. Team work – Gibbs, Tony & McGee preferably more so, is the best way to get back to basics. Bishop is ok too, but more so in the office enviroment. You don’t really need a 4th agent there all the time. I hope to meet Bishops husband. Hope he’s a fun guy, not some stick in the mud as i don’t think that will gel too well with those who aren’t happy with Bishop. Hopefully she will loosen up a bit and fit in more with the team on a fun aspect. I’d like to see Abby and her brother together again and find out more about why they were adopted. Hope they keep Luca in the picture as well. Maybe he could actually be their 2nd cousin or something. Keep it together and keep it positive. I’d like another story for Ducky along the lines of the Afghanastan story of Broken Bird. He is a wealth of information and should be used more. Keep Tony at the more mature level too. McGee and Delilah is a good storyline to keep on the positive side too.

I agree with these suggestions as well. I would also like to see more on the Palmer’s adoption story and Vance has been conspicuous by his absence for most of the second half of the Season.
