‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5: Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder share PaleyFest scoop
There are great things about PaleyFest, and then there are some things that can drive people a little bit batty at times. One of those things? How this year’s event has basically turned into a Roman Coliseum.
During the panel for “The Vampire Diaries” season 5, there were quite a few moments where quotes and conversations were sidetracked by insane screaming in the audience. Basically, Ian Somerhalder could blink, and the entire auditorium went into complete and utter hysterics.
As for some of the actual scoop that took place during the panel (which does not exclude teenage girls yelling at Paul Wesley to take his shirt off), some of the following was shared:
1. Paul had a great time directing his first episode, though for a little bit of hazing, Nina Dobrev sent him a note in his dressing room along with a giant picture of herself. What did the note say? Basically, that Paul should remember the early days of the series, and where he came from.
2. Both Ian and Nina are at least reasonably interested in directing at some point in the future, though there is a rather long queue in order to take on this role.
3. Katherine is most likely dead, based on what executive producers Caroline Dries and Julie Plec had to say. They really wanted to make her exit feel special, which is why it looked so different than some of the other characters.
4. When it comes to Caroline and Klaus, the producers are not really ruling anything out for them in the future. However, there are no plans to take one of them away from their respective shows.

Only interested in Ian Somerhalder like almost anybody else, the best actor on the show and the one that is holding the vampire Diaries still together.
