‘The Walking Dead’ season 4 spoilers: Emily Kenney on Daryl, Beth, and possibilities
Going into this season of “The Walking Dead,” we don’t really think anyone was really thinking about Daryl and Beth as a possible couple. She is barely of legal age, after all, and he is some older guy of indefinite age that has all this life experience doing terrible stuff with his brother. We remain intrigued mostly by Daryl and Carol, but it was hard to deny that the show may have at least dropped some hints in the “possible couple” department during this past episode, especially when Daryl explained to her how he had changed.
We’ve heard Norman Reedus say in the past that he has a hard time really seeing his character actually with someone, but what does the woman behind the other character have to say? Speaking in a new interview with “Access Hollywood,’ she did her part to explain a little as to what she imagines her character thinking when it comes to her travel companion:
“I think that she definitely really, really cares about him and their relationship has grown and she’s like really connected to him [in] a friendship way, but I don’t think that it’s necessarily occurred to her… that like, ‘Oh, this could be something more.’ But I definitely think in that moment, that sort of realization that, ‘Well, this is like really special — this kind of connection that has grown.’”
The other real mystery when it comes to these two is merely whether or not there will be enough screen time for the two of them to really form an even deeper connection before the season is over. Sunday’s “The Grove” looks on paper to be about Tyreese and Carol, but there could be some other stories thrown in there that we do not quite expect. We know that Daryl does have a mission now to protect and save Beth, but how much of it we see this week remains to be seen.
For now, let us know what you think when it comes to whether or not Daryl and Beth should be a couple. You can also sign up if you want to get more news via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
