‘American Idol XIII’ top 11 spoilers: Theme revealed; plus, Harry Connick Jr. to perform
What will the top 11 sing on “American Idol” next week? Well, we have a little bit of a better idea now courtesy of the theme spoilers released by Fox. Some of you are probably going to be surprised by this … but only because you expected something a little more original to come from the new producers.
Instead, we’ve got “Songs of the Cinema.” Yep. If someone picks either “I Have Nothing” or “I Believe I Can Fly,” our ears will bleed right off and it won’t be pretty. There are not that many current choices out there for people to perform, unless they want to get either quirky or completely obscure. There’s also a part of us that wants to hear someone do Adele Dazeem Idina Menzel’s version of “Let It Go,” just to see if they can get a flurry of votes from rabid “Frozen” fans.
Also on Thursday night’s show, expect to see a performance medley from Harry Connick Jr., who may also actually take on a number of tracks from this theme. Mali Music, the latest in a line of artists considered to be up-and-coming, will also hit the stage at some point. Remember that this results show is going to be moving to an all-new timeslot at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, mostly because the last thing that the show wants to do is try to compete against “The Big Bang Theory” anymore. (We’re sure that there are some networks out there who at this point would just prefer to take the half-hour off.)
