‘Big Brother Canada 2’ spoilers: Who could be the final houseguest (a.k.a. #FinalHG)

Tomorrow night marks the much-anticipated premiere of “Big Brother Canada 2,” but before we finish our houseguest spotlight series (which we are still working on vigorously), we thought that we would use at least part of today to try and answer another question: Who is going to be the final houseguest this season? This #FinalHG story has taken Twitter by storm, and we want to at least spend a minute or two trying to separate fact from fiction.

Here’s what we know for certain: This person will be revealed live on the premiere Wednesday night, and to this date, there is no concrete statement out there about who it is. (To be fair, though, we wouldn’t report anything anyway without the confirmation of someone in production.) What we can at least tell you for now are some of the interesting possibilities.

1. A former U.S. contestant – We want to get this one out of the way, since this is the least likely scenario. We have it on good authority that the Canadian show wants to keep its own identity, and not be a carbon copy of the American show. While they may throw Dan Gheesling into the house, there’s a difference between that and giving someone a spot on the cast.

Of course, there are also issues with a foreign contestant earning money in Canada … huge issues. We’ve talked to people with an understanding of gaming commission laws, and the rules render it virtually impossible for someone without Canadian citizenship or some sort of visa. Elissa Reilly is one of the more intriguing options since she is married to a Canadian, but we can all but confirm that it’s not her thanks to her appearance schedule with her sister Rachel (unless she is straight-up lying to everyone). Hayden Moss is another name that has been rumored for a while, and he hasn’t been on social media much. However, like we said, there are rules. The issue is not so much Americans being on Canadian shows and getting paid for filming (Canadians have been on the American “Bachelor”); it’s about competing for a grand prize.

2. A season 1 “Big Brother Canada” contestant – Are there potential opportunities here? Sure, though just about everyone is accounted for. Could someone have someone else tweeting for them? Sure.

Gary and Peter are for sure not on because of their role hosting the “Side Show” with Arisa Cox, and they’re not going to throw Jillian in there again. The only real candidates that we could see from an entertainment standpoint are Talla or Tom, since he does stir the pot so easily. But, we don’t really think Slice wants to rehash their past season so soon.

3. A family member of a “Big Brother Canada” contestant – Relatives of Andrew, Emmett, and Talla have all been rumored, but once again, there is nothing on social media to suggest that they could be going in. We do like this idea more, since it does give you some of the past without as big of an unfair advantage. We wouldn’t rule this out.

4. A drag queen from Nova Scotia – We’ve just heard this one on Twitter a lot. Could it be true? Sure, but why make it a secret then? We don’t think that there is any one drag queen in Canada famous enough for their own separate announcement.

5. A celebrity – By celebrity, we of course mean maybe a former sitcom star, a pro hockey player, or a member of the Olympic Team in Sochi. These are people that most Canadians would know, and we can see them wanting to have that extra promotion from people who are not traditionally “Big Brother Canada” fans.

6. Canada votes – This has been done before on “Opposite Worlds” and sort of for “Big Brother All-Stars,” but why not give us four houseguests and have us vote on one to enter the house? Maybe the drag queen from Nova Scotia is one of them? It’s a great way to get Canada involved from the start of the game, and have it impact the house without screwing any one particular contestant.

7. Canada’s player – Maybe someone else comes in as a vessel for Canada, and the show is waiting to reveal that until the premiere. If you want Canada involved in the entire game, this is a way to make it happen.
