‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: More on Santana – Rachel fight, Adam Lambert’s return
Now that we are actually starting to get a little closer to the return of “Glee” (it’s only two weeks away!), we are pleased to share the following: The official details for “Frenemies,” which is the next new episode of the show coming on the air on February 25. Fox released the synopsis this morning, and while there are a few parts of this that you have likely heard about before (the Rachel vs. Santana feud), there is a McKinley High story teased here that was not so much common knowledge on the same level:
“Santana auditions and snags the role of Rachel’s understudy in ‘Funny Girl,’ causing a feud between the roommates. Meanwhile, back in Lima, Tina and Artie compete against each other to be the class valedictorian.”
Now, we turn to guest stars. While he’s not mentioned above, Adam Lambert is for sure going to be back for this one as Elliott “Starchild” Gilbert. What about Demi Lovato? She’s not listed, and we’re starting to wonder whether or not we have a Charice 2.0 sort of situation on her hands here with her. If you remember, Charice was originally going to have a pretty decent arc on the show, but it was eventually trimmed down due to story reasons and her own busy schedule. Demi’s now on tour and has been in rehearsals for a while, so it is unclear just how much of her we’re going to even see in the upcoming weeks before she’s likely gone for good.
What do you think: Does this sound like a great episode to get you hooked again on “Glee,” or are you pretty much convinced at this point that nothing can bring this show back around to what it once was? I was a Gleek from the start, but interest was beginning to drop until Adam arrived as Starchild/Elliott. I love him on the show and hope for more. I also like Demi and wish she had more of a storyline and presence on the show, but as stated above with her out on tour now I’m not sure how much of her we’ll see on Glee, which is sad.

I love watching Adam on Glee. I hope he’s role is expanded and he’s included in a lot more episodes. I really like Demi too and I’m disappointed that she’s not featured more. IMO, both are incredibly talented and underutilized so far.
