‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7 spoilers: Two sides of ‘The Convention Conundrum’
Do you like it when the guys and the girls on “The Big Bang Theory” get to have separate storylines? From our vantage point, it’s all based on a very-appropriate formula of all the components we like to see on the show, which includes the humor of the premise and the frequency of the story. Given that we don’t see too many stories that give the men and women something distinct to do, we enjoy it when it happens. If this was every week, we would instead find it very annoying.
We haven’t seen this in a while, so “The Convention Conundrum” Thursday night should be an exciting one! From the male standpoint, you have the likes of Raj, Sheldon, Howard, and Leonard all trying to get tickets to Comic-Con, which we assume is what they are trying to do in the photo above. Unfortunately for them, they fail miserably. This somehow leads to Sheldon getting James Earl Jones to spend time with him for his own Comic-Con, but sadly, Darth Vader himself isn’t in any of the promotional photos sent out by CBS.
Meanwhile, Bernadette, Amy, and Penny are going to try to act like “Grown-Ups” this week, and we are assuming that they mean “people who are not like the guys in their lives” when they say this rather than that awful Adam Sandler movie. We are assuming that this is what is behind the nice outfits and the very adult setting of this other photo that we have to share, where Penny especially looks bored.
The only thing that we do find the show occasionally missing is someone that can fully relate to Penny, and almost nobody else. It is like she is stranded on an island in many ways from the others. Raj is still new to the whole world of communicating with ladies, and Bernadette and Amy are still so scientifically-oriented. Plus, one of them is Amy, and she is only a couple of rungs above Sheldon on the ladder of social skills. (Actually, we’re not even sure that Sheldon knows where the ladder is.)
