‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7 spoilers: Drea de Matteo joins Charlie Hunnam, cast as series regular
Given that we have seen quite a bit of Wendy on “Sons of Anarchy” the past two seasons, it was always a possibility that this could be coming up at some point. Now, it has: Drea de Matteo is going to be a series regular for the seventh and assumed final season of the FX drama.
The news of the actress’ promotion comes in via TVLine, and it serves as some indication as to where the story could be heading moving forward. With Tara (Maggie Siff) now out of the picture, the odds are therefore higher that Wendy could have a more active role in the lives of Jax’s children. As for whether or not that is a good thing … you just have to figure out whether or not that is really better or worse than the situation that they are in now. Wendy has found more stability as of late, but has an extensive history of addiction.
Some of the early work will begin soon on the final season of the show, with production slated to start up in the same sort of May timeframe that it has for some other seasons of the show. The last thing that we can feel pretty good about is that “Sons of Anarchy” will once again be a ratings beast. It’s arguably the most-successful show in the history of FX, and now may get the benefit of extra viewers knowing that the end of the road for Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam), regardless of whether he lives or dies, could be near.
The new season should premiere within the first two weeks of September, unless the show decides to change the course now after doing the same thing for many years.
Are you excited for more of Wendy, or were you never a fan of the character? Be sure to share your thoughts either way below.

Okay so as disturbing as it was, I totally get where Kurt was going with taking out Tara. Unfortunately it’s the reality of jax’s life. There world totally revolves around violence and self preservation. I get why Tara lied and did all the things she did, and I also get Gemma they were both trying to protect there kids. I know everyone hates Gemma I def. Cried when it happened, but I also felt sorry for Gemma because she reacted off a gut instinct she had been conditioned to. She reacted without knowing all the facts, mothers primal and basic instinct is to protect her young. As a mother I would lay down my life for my babies or take out anyone who meant to harm them. Gemma has to live with that the rest of her life or as long as jax lets her live.that being said I can’t get behind wendys character, she can’t be a mother, she couldn’t protect Abel while she was pregnant, she couldn’t stay clean after. She may think she wants to be a mom, but if if your first instinct isn’t to protect your child you shouldn’t be a parent. If her and jax ended up together or she gets the boys that will be a punishment for those boys. They are the victim of their environment in a world that was passed down to there father.hopefully jax’s eyes will be opened in the wake of taras death.

I can’t believe Kurt would choose Wendy over Tara. Tara was the one good thing Jax had in his life and now since Gemma has killed her so brutally, I can’t imagine where he will end up. I hope Kurt has something good up his sleeve because frankly, I am so very disappointed that Tara, the love of his life, has been taken away. Good luck, Kurt, I hope you haven’t screwed yourself with that decision.

Not a fan of WENDY or Colette for that matter, I rather see Jax die then end up with either one of those woman. Wendy will live with the ghost of Tara no matter what happens with them,

I’ve been wanting him to get with Wendy for a while it would be nice if just once the one who wasn’t the first love got to be happy. I’ve never seen that in any movie or show.

I HATE Wendy. I appreciated her getting sober, until she was all weak and pathetic. I don’t want to see Jax or the boys really spending any time with her. Why couldn’t she just OD last season or the first season?

Kurt, please do not make us watch Jax’s have any type of relationship with Wendy!! It’s bad enough that SONS is coming to an end, leave us with something great to think about.

yea cuz shes a junkie w**** who lets drugs overcome her stability of becoming sober. Personally, unless jax is really that dumb- there’s NO way he’ll let her anywhere near the boys.

Wendy is a pathetically weak and useless character who has never been anything more than a plot point. If anything, the addition of Wendy as a regular character will cost the show viewership as she is not a well liked character.
