‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 6 finale run time revealed; Katey Sagal, Maggie Siff to appear on ‘Afterword’
How long will the “Sons of Anarchy” finale be tomorrow night? If you have an early wake-up time on Wednesday morning, make sure that you get yourself stocked up on some Starbucks Blonde roast coffee in advance.
During his latest “WTFSutter” video, creator Kurt Sutter said that the episode “A Mother’s Work” is going to run somewhere close to an hour and forty-five minutes when you throw in commercials. In case you are wondering why TV Guide has the show listed as two hours, it’s because there is also the first eight or so minutes of “Anarchy Afterword” thrown in there as well. As previously reported, the aftershow is going to air at first on FX (in what we are hoping is some sort of test to see if it could air in this spot next year), and will then transition onto the internet only for the later part of the show.
As for the guest list, Sutter and host Chris Franjola will be joined by Katey Sagal (Gemma) and Maggie Siff (Tara), which makes a little bit of sense given that much of the past couple of episodes has really revolved around the relationship between Gemma and Tara. There may be an opportunity in the finale to get some resolution as to what is really going to happen to Tara after her attempt to bail on Charming with the children, and there’s no question that all parties involved are going to have quite a bit to discuss after the episode ends. One great question we’re still wondering is if Tara survives how she could be a part of the story moving forward?
After this episode, the long wait will begin until season 7 airs on FX, presumably in the fall of next year. Luckily, you won’t have to wait that long for updates. Sutter is very good at giving out updates throughout the hiatus, which is one of the reasons why we’ve nominated him for Showrunner of the Year in 2013.
Unless some other news breaks later, season 7 is planned to be the last year for the show.
