ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3 spoilers: Guillermo Diaz teases shocking midseason finale
Thursday night’s “Scandal” is apparently going to blow your mind, at least if you believe what series star Guillermo Diaz is saying about it now. We tend to figure that if this guy is saying that something will surprise you, it really will. After all, just remember that this is the same guy who has already killed people, played the part of a homeless / disturbed man captured by Eli, and a guy torturing one of his fellow Gladiators in Quinn. He’s been through the wringer himself, which is why he has an interesting, and at times paranoid, perspective on everyone else.
Without saying anything further, let’s go ahead and bring you just what Diaz himself had to say in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly about this all-important hour:
“I think Shonda’s outdone herself. Characters end up doing things you wouldn’t expect. It’s a wild ride. We can’t wait for the fans to see it and experience what we’re shooting now. It’s good. It’s so hard to say! There’s so much we’ve shot, so I’m trying not to reveal too much.”
By the end of this episode, there are really two goals that Rhimes is trying to achieve:
1. Making sure that your jaw is on the floor, so you have something to talk about with your friends until the show returns in late February.
2. Satisfying you enough that you don’t feel like the show has wasted your time so far this season.
When you look at the show strictly from the standpoint of the stories that should be addressed Thursday, the two biggest ones are likely Quinn’s torment at the hands of Huck, and also whether or not Olivia is really going to be able to stop Maya Lewis after she basically gave her the license to continue traveling the world free. It wasn’t until it was too late that she realized that this woman was hardly who she thought she was going in.
