ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3 spoilers: A few teases from Bellamy Young on midseason finale

Before we do anything else when it comes to “Scandal,” let’s start things off by giving a tiny little update when it comes to the upcoming midseason finale: It’s actually not airing on December 3, despite the promo that aired last night possibly giving you that idea. Instead, the show is setting this up to be a “finale event,” meaning that you are getting part of that story on December 3, but then having to wait until the week that follows to get the rest. When you consider everything that you are about to see unfold here, we imagine that you’re not going to be upset about getting even more story to check out, as opposed to the alternative.

While actual spoilers on this episode for now are understandably pretty hard to come by, Bellamy Young did at least share the following about the intense “Scandal” send-off (at least until March) airing December 10: “Sad, sexy, happy and horrifying.” Have you ever seen that combination of words before?

What surprises us at this point is that there is a way in which the show can get even more insane from here on out, based on what we’ve seen the past few years. Let’s try to sum this up with just a few assorted highlights: We’ve already learned on the show that Mellie’s child may actually be Fitz’s father, that she was a rape victim, that Olivia’s mother is still alive, that Huck is about to torture Quinn, and that Cyrus basically set up his own husband to have an affair on him. This show goes so far out of left field at times that it is hard to believe, but we have to admit: It’s still pretty entertaining no matter how you look at it.
