‘The Bachelor’: Jesse Tyler Ferguson plays warm-up for Juan Pablo Galavis in parody

The Bachelor -Juan Pablo Galavis’ season of “The Bachelor” may not air on ABC until Monday, January 6, but why should you be waiting until then in order to check out some drama with rose ceremonies. Cue the brand-new parody video from Funny or Die starring “Modern Family’s” Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

Sure, we know that there are already approximately a billion of these parody videos that are out there across the internet already, but what makes this one special and distinctive is actually pretty easy to figure out: There is a twist that goes beyond just a simple spoof of the show. Jesse comes up with the idea of having a house full of men try to win his heart, but the problem is that instead of trying to get his love and affection, they are instead too interested in trying to hook up with each other. How is that for an unexpected twist? It’s done in a way that avoids all of the nasty gay character stereotypes, and is instead completely hilarious.

From the point that this premise is unveiled, the video really takes off and Jesse soon after starts to feel like some of the contestants who go very far in the series, only to end up feeling sad and heartbroken later on. Why couldn’t they get the love that they felt they deserved? It’s both sad and unintentionally funny at the same time when you watch it on TV; here, it’s all about the laughs.

The new season of the actual show starring Juan Pablo has pretty much gone through the entire filming process at this point, and hopefully, this will lead to some more footage coming out of it soon.
