‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: ‘X-Files’ villain to play integral role in surprising new story

More scoop -While the Moira Queen case may have felt as though it was given a backseat role on “Arrow” season 2 this past episode, there is no real reason to worry about the plotline’s relevance to the story long-term. We are going to see a ton of Moira during Wednesday night’s “State v. Queen”; not only that, but it appears as though the show is already trying to make it clear just what sort of plans that they have for Moira following the case (regardless of if it goes in her favor or not).

According to TVLine, actor Nicholas Lea, perhaps known best known for being Agent Mulder and Scully’s longtime foe Krycek on “The X-Files,” is going to appear in the 12th and 13th episodes of the CW drama as Mark Francis. While there is not too much known about this role right now, we can say that he is going to have a pretty important part in Moira’s life after the trial, and he has ties to another familiar man in her life in Walter.

These episodes are not going to be airing until next year, and thanks to that, let’s just hope that you have it within you to wait for a little while. Moira’s story is going to be a slow build for the rest of the season, as there are just so many other things also going on at the same time. You have Oliver trying to run his business, the surprise return of Sarah Lance to Starling City, and also a new villain out there on the streets in Brother Blood that nobody even knows about just yet in terms of the main characters. All of this set sets the stage for a killer second half of this season, especially when you consider that at some point, you will see another appearance from Malcolm Merlyn. The question is just if he will be alive, or if we are dealing with a flashback.
