‘The Mentalist’ season 6 spoilers: More scoop on deaths, Red John reveal
When “The Mentalist” season 6 airs a new episode on Sunday night, we are going to be another step closer to finally answering a question that we have long been hoping for an answer to: Who is Red John? While we may not find out the name of the killer during “The Great Red Dragon,” it will at least be set up so that the big reveal the following week will be all the more interesting.
So just how many big moments are coming your way the next two weeks? Let’s just that there is going to be almost everything from deaths to big scenes that give you a better idea who some of these characters, from the CBI to the Red John suspects, really are. Speaking to TVLine, show co-producer Jordan Harper, who also wrote Sunday’s episode, teased the story with the following message:
“It’s obviously a more serialized set of stories than we’ve ever done in the past, so it’s been a tremendous amount of fun. Particularly [last week’]s ‘Fire & Brimstone,’ this one, ‘The Great Red Dragon,’ and the one following it, ‘Red John,’ which are basically seen as a trilogy … There aren’t many things harder to write than the middle of a story. I was handed a cliffhanger ending, and had to tee up something for the next episode. It was very tricky fitting in both pieces of that puzzle while keeping the story moving.
“… [There are] A lot of things happen in this episode that can’t be taken back, and things are going to change permanently. The whole world we’ve built gets shaken to the core … There are some deaths.”
There are two ways to look at that final comment from Harper in that you could either be talking about some deaths when it comes to the suspects, or some people among the CBI team who do not make it to see another day. Let’s just hope that we are talking more about the former than the latter. We know that some actors are leaving the show, but we don’t want to see them go down in a violent blaze of glory.
