ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6, episode 8 preview: Clues on Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, and a diamond

Castle and Beckett -While last week we had a pretty emotional hour of “Castle” in “Like Father, Like Daughter,” what you are going to be seeing on the ABC show Monday night is one in “A Murder Is Forever” that is much more standard fare. You have the murder of a notable person, and investigation into figuring out who is responsible for it, and a tiny side story revolving around Castle and Beckett.

So what we are going to do here, as always, is try to tease this hour by giving you a little bit of an impression as to what to expect to see take place. While we’re going to save most of our thoughts for our full review later, this is not the same sort of game-changing episode that we’ve had a few times this season. We also cannot sit here and say with good conscience that there is even a cool guest star like we had with “Time Will Tell.”

1. There is no Alexis or Pi in this episode, which suggests that they are probably off somewhere trying to ease into their new lives. There is also no Martha, but you do get an appearance from the occasionally-absent Captain Gates.

2. There is also not really that much from either Ryan or Esposito, though they are around and take part in a couple of investigation-heavy scenes.

3. The victim here is an animal expert who took what she learned with other forms of primates and then translated it to humans. However, this will become so much more complicated than it looks at first. As the title of this episode suggests, a diamond is involved.

4. As teased in the sneak peeks, Castle and Beckett’s major conflict this week is figuring out how to properly share a space between the two of them courtesy of Linus, a terrifying portrait that Nathan Fillion’s character has up in his room.

5. There is a male character this week who reminds us a ton of Olivia Pope or Ray Donovan, but not nearlly as interesting as either one of them.

6. All stories this week are more or less resolved within the episode.

As we teased, there will be a full review for this coming up a little bit later tonight.
