‘Girls’ season 3: Victoria Beckham supposedly wants cameo, along with probably thousands

The latest -The idea of hearing about someone wanting a cameo in HBO’s “Girls” is not something that we can sit here right now and bat an eyelash at, largely for one simple reason: Almost everyone wants a cameo on “Girls.” It is one of the most-popular shows on HBO when it comes at least to social-media buzz, and it’s good. No matter what anyone on Reddit or anywhere else tells us, season 2 is far superior to season 1. It was existential, experimental, thought-provoking, and at times stellar. Season 1 felt a little more like a knock off of “Sex and the City”.

We mostly just post the following report just to subtly laugh at it … but not because Victoria Beckham wants to appear on the show. We get that. Rather the London Evening Standard claims that not only is she keen on doing the show, but Lena Dunham is apparently also on board with it. Wait … what?

If “Girls” actually goes through with this, then we should probably also expect at some point for “Girls” to have a musical episode, or for some other nonsense to suddenly start taking place. There is no way that the show is going to start bringing on board major stars to appear in cameo roles, since it completely takes away from the show and what it is. Hannah Horvath, as the teaser photo above shares, is the sort of young woman who never quite has it together. Spending time with Victoria Beckham is pretty suggestive that you really do have it together.  This is not a show like “Glee” that is silly and whimsical and you can plug in as many guest stars as possible. We’re surprised already that the show has chosen to bring on such people as Patrick Wilson and Donald Glover in who are in the least bit recognizable. There’s a reason why the series regulars are all people that you probably never heard of prior to the show beginning. The only person with a shred of name recognition is Allison Williams, and that is just because of who her dad is.

You can hear some of the ladies talk about the new “Girls” season here, and you should take note that it doesn’t include mention of Beckham or any other guest.
