‘Two and a Half Men’ season 11 spoilers: Rose returns … but why?

It begins -Two and a Half Men” just can’t shake Rose no matter how hard they try. Melanie Lynskey’s character has appeared in five dozen episodes over the course of the past decade, starting out of course as Charlie’s terrifying stalker / ex before eventually becoming his girlfriend again … and then seemingly later becoming his murderer. When you really consider all of this, it’s surprising that Alan really wants her around him.

But when she has surfaced since the death of Charlie, her role has been much more troubling, and at times completely at random. Remember what went down with her and Kate last year? Odd. But her appearance on the upcoming 21 episode is actually going to put Walden in a position where he needs her, as the official synopsis below for it tries to explain:

“Alan and Lyndsey’s illicit affair puts Walden in danger, forcing him to accept Rose’s help.”

We are already more than curious what this sort of “help” is going to pertain. Maybe we are talking here about Rose needing to be someone’s girlfriend to cover up something? The only other thing that we can think of is that nobody may be better at covering up illicit things than Rose, given all of the ways that she was spying on Charlie without him ever knowing about it.

Then again, maybe we are in the end putting way too much thought into this, especially when you consider that this is “Two and a Half Men” that we are talking about here. It’s a silly show that occasionally has some great moments, but it’s been short on them this season in comparison to what we had more of last year, when we think that Walden had a little more to do. You can read a review of the show featuring Lynda Carter here, and our impression overall is simple: It was an inspired move for the writers to get someone on with a great sort of TV clout behind them, but the ratings (which were barely above a 2.0 in the 18-49 demographic) really showed that there were not that many people who cared very much about it.
