‘Beauty and the Beast’ season 2, episode 5 preview: Cat’s high school reunion

Is Cat going to be able to actually have a normal night of fun on “Beauty and the Beast” next week? Asking this question is like asking if Vincent is going to wake up one morning on the show and start saying all of his lines as though he is stuck in some sort of bizarre high school musical. It’s not going to happen. This is a woman that cannot escape drama no matter how hard she tries, and the drama will be bubbling over when she thinks mistakenly that she can take a break from the beast-hunting and the investigation.

“Cat (Kristin Kreuk) gets a blast from the past as she attends her high school reunion, where she uncovers more of her past than she ever anticipated. Meanwhile, Vincent (Jay Ryan) meets up with one of his old military buddies who is hiding a very dangerous secret.”

The biggest stories that we know for sure to be coming up this season involve a whole mess of new temptations for Cat, primarily as she starts to contend with the fact that there are all sorts of other beasts out there … and some of them could be persuasive to Vincent. She needs to keep him on her side, but the measures in which she may have to go in order to make that happen could cause her to suddenly become detached from her world and almost everyone that she cares about. We’ve already seen some little inklings of it happening already this season, and it could blossom into something so much more.
