‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: ‘League of Assassins,’ and more on Moira’s case

Take a look -Is Moira Queen going to avoid the death penalty? While we understand that this may not be the most noteworthy storyline on “Arrow” season 2, it is still one worth discussing as we push a little bit deeper into the story this season. After what happened to Oliver’s father, the last thing that he wants to do is lose his mother.

Unfortunately, there are going to be some problems that arise for Moira in the episode “League of Assassins” that airs a week from Wednesday (November 6). While it may be possible to save his mother from the death penalty, the only option appears to be to accept life in prison. There is basically no easy answer to this dilemma, and what makes this even worse for Oliver is that he will feel as though a one-time ally is betraying him in the process. Take a look at the full synopsis below:

“While Oliver (Stephen Amell) tends to the Canary’s (Caity Lotz) wounds, he tries to get her to talk about where she came from but she refuses.  However, after Oliver and the Canary are attacked at the Queen mansion by a trained killer from the League of Assassins, she confesses to how she’s connected with the nefarious group.  Meanwhile with Moira (Susanna Thompson) facing multiple counts of murder and conspiracy for her part in the destruction of The Glades, the Assistant District Attorney (guest star Dylan Bruce) offers her a choice – plead guilty now and avoid the death penalty or take your chances in court.  Thea (Willa Holland) begs her mother to fight for her life but Moira seems resolute about taking the offer.  Meanwhile, Oliver is furious with Laurel (Katie Cassidy) for joining the prosecution’s team on his mother’s case.”

We should find out a little bit more by the end of this episode as to what Moira’s options really are, in addition to some of the origins of the Canary. As for what comes after this, let’s just say that the following episode will revolve heavily around Diggle as he works hard to try and take down his personal archenemy in Deadshot.
