‘The Originals’ episode 4 preview: Joseph Morgan, a ‘Girl in New Orleans,’ and a brawl

What's next -While “The Vampire Diaries” may have decade dances, “The Originals” has street music festivals, and they appear to have quite a few similarities when it comes down to brass tacks. Will there be violence? You better believe it. As a matter of fact, this show is going to waste little time proving that this is not the little brother of the flagship series. Instead, it’s like the big brother who suddenly showed up after spending a few years in Europe looking buff, tanned and with a gorgeous girlfriend in tow.

Next week’s episode is entitled “Girl in New Orleans,” and in case the promo below did not give it away already, the synopsis below should make it clear enough that violence is around every turn:

“With the annual Dauphine Street music festival around the corner, Davina (Danielle Campbell), itching for a night out, convinces Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) to let her attend. Marcel cautiously obliges but asks Cami (Leah Pipes) to keep a watchful eye on Davina. Agnes (guest star Karen Kaia Livers) convinces Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) to visit a mysterious doctor in the bayou where she makes a shocking discovery. Meanwhile, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) takes a special interest in Cami, who reveals some alarming information about her past, and a determined Rebekah (Claire Holt) is on a mission to get to the bottom of a recent strange encounter involving Elijah (Daniel Gillies). Daniella Pineda also stars.”

But is “The Originals” really holding your interest enough to tune in for another week? While the show isn’t perfect (since Klaus is not always the easiest guy to root for), it is stronger at this point than “The Vampire Diaries” back during season 1. Let’s just hope that viewers stick with it, since Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. Eastern is a busy timeslot and they have a lot to compete against. Not only that, but fans have quite a bit on their plate already. (We’ll know for sure the ratings for tonight’s “Tangled Up in Blue” at around noontime tomorrow.)

Is there any particular story threat that you are looking forward to, or is it just more of Joseph Morgan being awesome in general? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below! Meanwhile, click here if you want to read some more news pertaining to “The Originals.”
