Are Tina Fey, Amy Poehler returning for the 2014 Golden Globes?
Anyone curious about the future of the Golden Globes has a reason to be pleased. Not only are Amy Poehler and Tina Fey going to be back for the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, but the two ladies are going to have a future that extends even beyond that.
Today, the news was confirmed that the two former “Saturday Night Live” cast members, who have each went on to have their own substantial hit shows at NBC, are going to be the hosts of the Golden Globes in 2014, but also the 2015 show as well. This means that they will have for sure the same run on the show as Ricky Gervais, who we’re still amazed he got that long given that he basically spent all of his time at the show trolling people as hard as possible.
Poehler and Fey have to be over the moon about the news, mostly because it gives them a notable TV presence almost regardless of what else they have going on in their lives. Fey is working as a producer on some new pilots this year, and it’s unclear just when she will return to television as a full-time star. Meanwhile, Poehler’s “Parks and Recreation” is probably nearing its own end due to low ratings. This keeps both of them locked in to a great deal, and one of the few awards shows out there that continually draws a hefty viewership, even if it is the little brother of the Oscars.
All we hope is that over these two shows, Tina and Amy are given the same sort of creative freedom that they were in the past. Not only that, but that the actors and directors show up ready to be mocked a little.
Do you think that Amy and Tina are the right choices to come back on the show for more? Just be sure to share some of your thoughts below!
