Jimmy Kimmel, Kanye West to hash out Twitter war on tonight’s ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’

Jimmy KimmelJust a matter of days after Kanye West more or less vowed to ruin Jimmy Kimmel, he is now doing a pretty strong reversal of course here: He’s going on his show. ABC confirmed today that on tonight’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” episode, the rapper is actually going to appear to discuss some of what happened last week, and even bring Kimmel some ratings because of it.

Was the entire ordeal just a big publicity stunt? We don’t really subscribe to that theory, mostly because Kanye has been known to be a bit of a blowhard over the years with a history of creating headlines when he doesn’t need to. While he may have at least been right that it was cruel for Jimmy to manipulate a BBC Radio interview that he did in order to get laughs (which was the source of his whole feud), it’s comedy. That’s what Jimmy does; he takes little clips of someone and then makes fun of them. (Trust us, we know from our days on “Beauty and the Geek” just what this feels like. You just gotta laugh about it.)

There was some progression over the weekend that suggested that the short-lived feud was in fact at an end, as Kanye deleted the entirety of his angry tweets towards the late-night host. We suppose that ultimately, Kanye realized that he wasn’t going to get anywhere by fighting Jimmy, and in the end it could be a better idea if he were to just embrace what Jimmy had up his sleeve, and try to get whatever publicity he could out of the ordeal.

This is still a big get for Kimmel, given that Kanye hates interviews and rarely makes appearances on talk shows. Kimmel said the following about the gig in the network’s statement:

“Kanye and I had a disagreement a couple of weeks ago — and it got a little bit out of hand. Tomorrow night, we will sit down and discuss it like normal people do — on television.”

Are you excited to see Kanye and Jimmy sit down and talk this out? Leave us a comment and tell us what you think will be resolved from this chat.
