‘The Mentalist’ season 6, episode 3 preview: Is this ‘Game of Thrones’ reference the best?

The latest -Clearly, Bruno Heller or someone else who works on “The Mentalist” has quite a sense of humor when it comes to sitting down and naming their episodes. How else do you really explain something named “Wedding in Red”? Someone is clearly pledging their allegiance to either House Stark or House Targeryan.

As someone who fancies himself quite the “Game of Thrones” aficionado, we appreciate the reference, and the irony here is that with Red John still on the loose, it’s possible that we could see something in this episode that is actually similar to what happened in the Red Wedding. (Since the internet deems it such these days, we will not go any further and spoil for you an episode that aired in June if for some reason you haven’t seen this yet.)

There is an actual wedding taking place on this episode, and you can assume that there will be happy moments and even tears, but this is “The Mentalist,” and we have to expect something more than that to happen. You can find that out just by reading the synopsis below:

“Jane gets the CBI involved in a case in Napa in order to focus on Sheriff McAllister, while Van Pelt and Rigsby take a trip down the aisle.”

So love will be in the air, but somewhere in the process, Jane is going to get a closer eye on someone he has been rather interested in capturing. So basically, you have the best of both worlds. If only Peter Dinklage was present to give a drunken speech (we know, this is from a different event rather than the Red Wedding), all would be right with the world.
