‘American Horror Story: Coven’ spoilers: New meaning of mad cow disease in ‘Bullhorn’ teaser

For the latest teaser promoting “American Horror Story: Coven,” Ryan Murphy and company are clearly opting for a very different approach than usual: Less is more. This video is less than ten seconds long, but the impact that it has on you could last for so much longer.

In the video below, you can see what basically needs no real explanation at all: A horn of a bull sticking out of someone’s mouth. It’s not exactly a lovely sight to see, and it also makes you wonder something simple: How in the world is this person capable of eating? The only real benefit could be that it would make for quite a way to defend yourself if someone ever comes charging at you.

The biggest allusion that we see this horn being to is “cow-person,” the creature that has surfaced both in a previous promo for the show along with a poster. However, it looks far different than anything in this teaser. As you can see in the video here, cow-person has the physical features of a human when it comes to some of their limbs, but has a cow head (complete with horns). While Murphy constantly says that these sort of things are important to figuring out the meaning of a show, what we tend to think of them is that if you go back and watch them after the season is over, you may smile and think about all of the cool stuff you may have missed in the process.
