‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5, episode 1 preview: Jeremy and the ghost of Bonnie

Even though many months have passed since Bonnie died during “The Vampire Diaries” season 4 finale, she is going to learn pretty quickly here just what sort of consequences there are going to be to trying to keep up a ruse that is as elaborate as this one.

In the latest sneak peek video below from “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” you can check out Kat Graham’s character in a conversation with Jeremy, where she convinces him yet again to keep her secret safe. As for why: She doesn’t want to see anyone figure out just what exactly is going on. Elena is happy at Whitmore College, and the last thing that she wants to do is put her in a position where her experience is ruined in any way. She also does not want to do anything to upset her father, mostly because the man has proven himself over time to not exactly be the poster child of being a good and kind man.

Eventually, do we think that Bonnie is going to have to, pun intended, give up the ghost? Definitely, since this is not the sort of thing that can stay buried forever. However, it should be a pretty interesting time until that happens, and Jeremy is going to put himself in a deeper hole by keeping this a secret. That aspect of this is something that Bonnie does not seem to be getting a good grasp on: In helping to keep this secret, Jeremy is basically continuing to put himself at a certain amount of risk.
