‘Girls’ season 3 spoilers: Zosia Mamet on a different side of Shoshanna

“Girls” season 3 is still a little ways out, with HBO having yet to announce when the series is going to be back on HBO with new episodes. However, who wouldn’t love to get some new scoop coming in now via one of the stars?

We know that for most of these characters, life is going to be somewhat different moving into this new year. Marnie (Allison Williams) will be alone after Charlie leaves her, and Jessa (Jemima Kirke) is simply going to be around again after she ridiculously bailed on Hannah in the worst way ever. But what about Shoshanna? After breaking up with Ray, she is going to become much more of a wild child than we ever saw from her before courtesy of a new-found sense of confidence and freedom. Speaking to E! News on the subject of just what we can expect, here is what she had to say:

“She’s just kind of goes even harder in the embracing of her single lady-ness. I think she really takes Beyoncé’s song to heart and is kind of throwing underwear to the wind, to coin a phrase.”

So in other words, this should be very fun considering that Shoshanna is one of the more awkward people out there. We’re just happy to see that these characters are starting to show some growth, as it would be easy for them to stay in a holding pattern and not really change much, given that the show is already successful. There’s no real need for Dunham to push the envelope, but she will hopefully do so anyway. (We liked season 2 more than the original for this reason.)
