‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: Oliver Queen and a shocking return

More scoop -At the end of “Arrow” season 1, the battle between Oliver Queen and Malcolm Merlyn met a bitter end in a showdown that took down a sizable chunk of the Glades, and also cost Tommy his life. This was the impetus for what is going to be a pretty dramatic season 2, as everyone is still working and trying their hardest to get over what transpired.

So what would you say if we were to tell you now that the battle is far from over? Well if you would freak out, you better start pulling out your hair now. According to TVLine, John Barrowman is going to reprise his role as the character at some point in the show’s second season. The kicker here is that there is no word yet as to whether this appearance is going to come via a flashback, or in the present-day in the form of the Dark Archer’s return.

The one reason that this is so ambiguous right now is simply due to a common rule of television: If someone is not actually shown on-screen as dead and buried, then they may very well be alive. The finale was shown to us in a purposefully-ambiguous way, which allows for the opportunity for returns. Heck, when you have a show with a supernatural element, it’s always possible that a guy like Malcolm could even rise from the grave and cause a little bit of trouble.

What we can say at least for now is that “Arrow” does have themselves a pretty impressive array of guests lined up to appear on this season, whether or not you are talking about Summer Glau or Grant Gustin, who will be Barry Allen and may potentially get his own spin-off series all about him. With so many familiar faces, we’re almost due to get a handful of episodes all about excitement.
