‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: Key moments for Kevin McHale, Blake Jenner in new sneak peek

“Glee” season 5 has just released a brand-new sneak peek for their September 26 premiere, and we have to say something pretty simple about it: It looks an awful lot like everything that we have seen over the first four years.

At this point to us, it feels pretty obvious why the show is in need of a pretty drastic change in some regards. These scenes in the choir room, which was once endearing, are now incredibly cheesy and dull to watch. Will comes in with a new assignment, the students shout back with a crazy-big number of facts about the style of music that they are performing in, and then everyone cheers really loud and there are a few corny dance moves.

Do we think that most of the students are going to bust out some great Beatles numbers? Sure, but that is not what we want to focus on from the video below. Instead, there are two other important points here to make:

1. Ryder (Blake Jenner) is clearly still in New Directions. So much for that threat that he made to quit earlier this year, right? That just turned out to be all smoke and no substance. Hopefully, he and Unique (Alex Newell) will find some way to work out some of their other issues soon, as well.

2. Is there a romance brewing between Artie (Kevin McHale) and Kitty (Becca Tobin)? It sure looks like it, and this one has definitely come out of nowhere. We didn’t ever see this coming when the latter character was first introduced, but it makes some sense. It is an opportunity for Artie to have a potential love interest that is strictly his, which is nice given that he, like Sam, has dated someone in Brittany who most everyone just wants to see with Santana.
