‘Big Brother 15’ live feed spoilers: Andy compares himself to Dan Gheesling; more campaigning

The latest -Here’s a good rule of thumb for people who play “Big Brother“: It’s never a particularly great idea to sit in the game and compare yourself to any former players. You are basically giving yourself a standard that is impossible to live up to, and you don’t know how the rest of the players are acting behind closed doors.

So for Andy to compare himself to Dan Gheesling (see just after 3:00 p.m. Big Brother Time today) … yeah, it’s a major facepalm. The one compliment that we will give Andy is that he has played a great strategic game. He has maneuvered himself very well to ensure that he never goes up on the block, and by and large this has worked extraordinarily well for him. He realized that there was no way that he would get place any higher than third against Amanda and McCrae, so he jumped ship when the time was right, formed a new deal, and then worked hard to get himself in a good position with them. The one similarity that he has with Dan is that they are great at rolling with the punches, and coming up with smart ways to survive.

That to us is where the similarities end. Dan was strictly all about game, and while Andy keeps saying that it’s “nothing personal” in his goodbye messages, he says a ton of nasty and very-personal things about other people. Dan was very persuasive and made people feel inspired before backstabbing them; Andy, meanwhile, inspires no one, and is more content to just sit back and let other people cannibalize each other. A better comparison for him is Sandra from “Survivor,” who was clearly a good player in that she won twice, but like Andy, someone whose game is not always easy to respect. Even with that, Andy is still way more personal and immature at times than Sandra ever was.

In short, we love to root for Dan; meanwhile, Andy makes it very hard for us to get behind despite his gameplay courtesy of the way that he acts.

The irony here for Andy right now is that despite all of his wheeling and dealing in the game, we really would not be shocked at all if he ends up getting third place, just as he would have with McCranda. Spencer and GinaMarie assured each other today that they would take one another to the final two; we didn’t think Spencer would be smart enough to see this, but GM is probably the better person to go with since the jury seems to still think highly of Andy’s game despite what he did to them. GM, meanwhile, has some support, but also some people (Candice and likely McCranda) who will not vote for her.
