‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: Katie Cassidy on Laurel Lance’s ‘darker place’

The latest -Time may heal some wounds, but it’s hard to imagine that you are going to come out of a tough situation in the same exact place that you were beforehand. All of this is going to be something that plays out on “Arrow” season 2, and Katie Cassidy feels as though we are going to see some major change at the end of the day for Laurel Lance thanks to some of what she went through last year.

Speaking to E! News, Cassidy explains that the driving forces of change for her are what happened to Tommy and the Glades at the end of last year, and the new version of the character that we are going to meet here is someone who views most of the world in a very different light:

“She has definitely grieved a bit and tried to deal with the death of Tommy and the Glades being destroyed, and I feel she has mainly focused her energy on working to distract herself so she does not have to deal with it. She definitely goes into a darker place. You see her doing stuff that you would never imagine or think she would do, but it’s credited because Tommy passed.”

Eventually, the hope here is obviously that this “dark place” leads to the arrival of the Black Canary on the scene, and we at least know that the first major moves in this story will take place during the new season. As for whether or not the Canary is born this year, that remains still to be seen.
