‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: A sad scene for Naya Rivera’s Santana?

Based on what we are seeing now when it comes to “Glee” season 5, there are some happy times ahead. Unfortunately, there are also gong to be some very sad moments, especially those that are likely coming up during the Cory Monteith tribute episode.

The photo below is from Naya Rivera’s Instagram page, and you really don’t need to say very much at all to describe it: It’s Santana, sitting alone on the McKinley High stage. While it is not confirmed that this is from that episode, that is what makes the most sense when you think about why she would be back around McKinley High School. The students will be grieving, and she would definitely want to be with people who could help her to get over some of what she is feeling. Santana and Monteith’s Finn were more than close at one point, to the point where she was his “first.” Meanwhile, she later became a source of comfort for him after he and Rachel were in their long-term relationship.

As for whether or not we could see a one-time love interest for Santana in Brittany S. Pierce show up, don’t get your hopes up. This is not any sort of slight against Cory or anyone else; it is just that Heather Morris is extremely pregnant, which may have made it a little bit more difficult to appear. (Dianna Agron is also not scheduled for the episode as of this writing, with her saying that there was no invitation sent her way to appear.)
