‘American Idol’ notes: Carrie Underwood falls, Ryan Seacrest booed, Phillip Phillips’ achievement

The latest -It’s been a while since we’ve done an “American Idol” notes, but there are so many interesting things happening right now in the world of the show that it is rather tough to pass up this opportunity.

Carrie Underwood takes a tumble – The video below took place at the season 4 winner’s recent Corpus Christi concert, where she basically learned the hard way that stomping your feet and wearing a flowing top do not always mix. Her foot got caught on it, and her rear went split on the stage. Luckily, she’s a seasoned performer not afraid of being embarrassed from time to time. She got back up and continued her performance without a problem. As a matter of fact, she even joked about the incident after the show. Carrie, ladies and gentlemen, is officially a trooper. Ryan Seacrest booed – This is also unfortunate, but rather funny. Ryan was present at the NFL season opener last night between the Denver Broncos and the Baltimore Ravens, and the crowd gave an emphatic “no” to the idea of his cross-promotion for the upcoming game show “The Million Second Quiz.”

Of course, he should really be flattered by this since Philadelphia fans once booed Santa Claus.

In other news from the game, we’ve embedded a video below of Keith Urban performing at an NFL kickoff party. Unlike Ryan, he was actually cheered for performing “A Little Bit of Everything.”

Great news for Phillip Phillips – We’ll close here with some great news for the season 11 champion: “The World from the Side of the Moon” is now certified platinum by the RIAA. This is the second straight reigning champ to secure the honor, as Scotty McCreery also had it for “Clear As Day,” but we’re not so optimistic about Candice Glover’s debut later this fall. She’s a great singer, but with literally no promotion and no “Home”-like success story, she is reliant on something that we haven’t heard yet.
