NBC’s ‘The Voice’ winner Danielle Bradbery performs National Anthem at NFL season opener

What's next? -Tonight marked the beginning of football fever in America, as the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens each descended on the Colorado city in order to officially kick off the NFL regular season. We’re not a sports site, so we’re not going to sit here and try to go through all of the individual Xs and Os or talk about the bazillion TV commercials that Peyton Manning has done over the course of his career.

Instead, let’s talk about NBC! This was an interesting night for the network, to say the least. Keith Urban gave a pre-show performance at the stadium, but because he is a panelist on the rival “American Idol,” he was not shown. Meanwhile, season 4 champion of NBC’s own “The Voice” Danielle Bradbery had herself quite the opportunity tonight to sing the National Anthem (and get a great deal of screen time) in front of the massive Denver crowd.

We’re going to give Danielle a lot of credit here. This is your biggest live audience ever and probably your biggest overall audience ever, and yet you are able to stand there, hit all of the notes, and remember the lyrics to an incredibly difficult song. This is a song that she will probably be called upon to do many times in her career; great singing voices are always in demand for it, which tends to mean that singing-competition contestants often tend to book these gigs. Just look at how many versions of this Kelly Clarkson has done over the years.

You can watch Danielle’s full performance of the song below. Meanwhile, just be sure to click here if you want to see an awesomely cheesy new promo that highlights the return of the coaches to the game.
