‘NCIS’ season 11 spoilers: Michael Weatherly’s Tony and a blast from his past

In going away from some of our other recent “NCIS” season 11 conversation pieces, this article really just revolves around one simple question: Who are we going to be seeing return to the show?

When you have a show that has been on the air for an incredible 300 episodes, one of the benefits that you do consistently have time and time again is a rich catalog of guest actors that you can go back and pull from at any given moment. This means that you never really run out of people to bring on the show if you want some familiar faces, and that way every guest star you are introducing is not someone new.

So who from the past could return this year? While it is not confirmed just yet, TVLine reports that Ralph Waite and Robert Wagner are likely to come back yet again this year as the fathers to DiNozzo and Gibbs, respectively. The “likely” part of this sentence serves as proof that if they do appear, it’s not going to be in the first handful of episodes this season.

Given what the two parties have been going through as of late, we can certainly understand why there would be a certain need for some family time in there somewhere. Tony, for example, will be trying to get over the loss of someone in Ziva who was both a colleague and someone he had serious feelings for, and Gibbs could be potentially struggling with everything that comes following what we are going to see regarding Parsons in the September 24 premiere.
