‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: Naya Rivera, Demi Lovato offer first tease of ‘Dantana’

Many out there loved “Brittana” as a couple on “Glee” … so are you interested at all in giving “Dantana” a chance? According to Naya Rivera, this is now the official couple name for Santana and Demi Lovato’s Dani, who will be making her first of six appearances early this season as an artsy love interest in New York City.

Also, we have the attached image, which was first posted on Rivera’s official Twitter page. So what can we take from this? Obviously, the simple way to look at it is that each one of them is (cue music) working as a waitress in a cocktail bar. This ultimately makes sense when you think about it; Santana is not a student at NYADA, and she needs to have a way to make a little bit of money. This is something that we still don’t quite understand when it comes to how Rachel and Kurt keep their apartment, but that is something that probably goes under the file for TV magic.

As we have said in the past already, it is hard to really get that excited about a new couple on “Glee” when you know from the get-go that it is hardly going to last very long, but at least Rivera and Lovato are friends in real life, and this relationship is going to at least show Santana possibly both what romance in the Big Apple can be like, and at the end of the day, it could pave the way for Brittany to return in some capacity.

Ultimately, what we can say is that this is amazing cross-promotion for Fox, who is surely desperate to get the ratings up for both “Glee” and “The X Factor” moving into this upcoming fall season.
