‘NCIS’ season 11 spoilers: Cote de Pablo, Ziva’s exit focus of first promo

“NCIS” fans, get ready to bust out your hankies.

Yesterday, we bemoaned the fact that there was no mention at all of Cote de Pablo’s character Ziva in the official synopsis for the season premiere, even if she was still listed as a part of the cast. It was a major bummer, after all, given that she is the character that so many are waiting to find out more about her sudden exit from the show. There are many questions out there, including what makes her leave, how she will say goodbye, and if fans of her and Tony are finally going to get the moment that they have been waiting for. (Executive producer Gary Glasberg has hinted that they will.)

Well, CBS is looking to make you weep with their first promo for the September 26 premiere, which is entirely about the character, starting with the line of “Ziva’s farewell begins.” You see some highlights from her and Tony, a brief amount of action, and then a super-tender moment at the end that is sure to make this exit all of the more emotional.

The one thing we can tell you for sure is that no matter what transpires during these first two episodes, Ziva is going to make it out alive, and therefore there is always a possibility that Cote could return to the show someday. However, we would not hang any hope on that, and it is better to focus instead on the characters that will remain, and the stories left to tell.
