‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: Will Amber Riley, Dianna Agron appear in Cory Monteith tribute?

The latest -Some of the first news is coming out about the roster of guest stars in the “Glee” tribute episode to Cory Monteith, and it looks like Ryan Murphy and the writers are doing a great job at getting most of the gang back together. Most everyone who has been a major part of Finn’s life will be accounted for, and there are only one or two notable omissions pending a surprise in the show airing.

While we are not going to give any of the plot away, E! News confirms that Amber Riley (Mercedes), Mark Salling (Puck), and Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang) are some of the New Directions members who are going to be coming back on the show for more in this emotional and likely tear-jerking episode. They will be joined by some returning members from the adult cast, including the very busy Mike O’Malley (Burt) and Jayma Mays (Emma), who are each series regulars on other shows, to go along with Dot-Marie Jones (Beiste) and Romy Rosemort (Carole).

The only major omissions for now are Dianna Agron (Quinn) and Heather Morris (Brittany), but neither was expected to appear in at least the early portion of the season in the first place. Morris should be due to give birth very soon, and Agron has been very busy with other projects and may not appear this year at all. When you consider schedules, it is always very difficult to get every person that you want back for something. We’re just happy that “Glee” is doing everything that they can to bring back familiar faces, but keep the hour still about Cory Monteith’s memory first and foremost.

This news comes after “Glee” posted one of their first video previews for the new season, which was narrated by Darren Criss.
