‘American Horror Story: Coven’ teaser: Burning stakes and an official premiere date

The latest -While we try our best at Cartermatt.com to look for some sort of hints or suggestions in the teaser promos that FX releases for “American Horror Story: Coven,” but the latest one seems really more just about shock value then anything else. You think you see one thing, but in a matter of mere seconds you realize that this “one thing” is really something that is rather different than your original perception.

At first, this promo is all about women being burned at the stake, almost as though this is more or less one of the old-fashioned Salem Witch trials. Then, you quickly realize that this is not entirely the case at all. Instead, what we are really looking at here is a case of women standing in front of burning stakes, while floating in the air. It’s basically a big middle finger to preconceived notions about what witches are, and what Ryan Murphy has in store for them.

Perhaps what is actually going to be more important in the context of this show is that there is finally a confirmed premiere date: Wednesday, October 9 at 10;00 p.m. Eastern. It’s surprising that we are not too far from this air date, if only because there are so few details out there about the plot at this point. Despite using a variety of different locations, the series has kept almost everything under wraps … at least so far.

Overall, what is your take on this new teaser for the show? As per always, we want to hear more of your thoughts with a comment! If you do want to see all of the other teasers that are out there right now for this season along with some analysis, just be sure to head on over to the link here.
