‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 5 spoilers: How a kiss can shake things up

There is going to be a pressing matter at hand during the “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 5 premiere, and it is all around a rescue mission for Deeks. Let’s just go ahead and get the obvious out of the way here in that you know that the guy is going to end up living to see another day; Eric Christian Olsen is a key part of the show, and were he not going to make it out of this torture situation alive, the news would have come out by now that he is leaving.

But with that being said, it’s obvious that there will be a challenge that will come up not just as the result of his situation, but as a result of his kiss with Kensi. At first glance, this is going to give the character even more motivation than ever, based on what Daniela Ruah says to TV Guide: “It’s not just her partner she’s saving; it’s this guy she might have a future with!” She was clearly going to have some motivation before, but this just kicks things up to another level.

Unfortunately, you may have heard already that the end of this story for the two characters may not be a happy one, courtesy of a conversation that comes after the fact. Olsen does his best to try and elaborate, telling the website the following:

“There are changes in these relationships because of these catastrophic events. Kensi and Deeks have one of the most heartbreaking scenes we’ve ever seen them do. It’s one of the few times that Deeks is able to… says exactly what he means.”

In addition to this conversation, also expect there to be some assistance that comes Deeks’ way in some other forms. Translation: It’s going to take some time for him to talk this out.
