‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: Colton Haynes discusses Roy Harper backstory

We have already gotten the opportunity to see on “Arrow” a little taste of what it was like to grow up in Oliver Queen’s shoes, extremely wealthy but also to a certain extent disconnected from much of the rest of the world, but what would we have to say for a certain someone in Roy Harper? Clearly, he did not grow up with a silver spoon, and spent much of his time having to struggle to meet ends meet. It wasn’t until he met Thea Queen that anything began to change for him at all.

Now that Colton Haynes is a series regular on the show, you can definitely expect to see even more of this story play out for him. Speaking in a new interview with E! News, the actor explains how some of his story this year is going to be similar to Oliver’s island flashbacks of the first year, where you start to learn a little bit more about who he grew up with, and what some of his own particular hopes and dreams are.

This news could somewhat explain what the appearance of a certain guest actor from “The Killing” is all about, as they are going to be playing the part of a street urchin who he is very familiar with. Unfortunately, and in spite of all of this casting news, it still sounds like the possible transformation of Roy into Speedy is still a certain ways away.
