Oprah Winfrey randomly revives ‘you get a car!’ during Jimmy Kimmel interview

While Oprah Winfrey has had a pretty rocky week of press this past week, in between that Switzerland purse controversy and interviewing Lindsay Lohan, there is nothing that keeps the video below from being as truly awesome as it is. Basically, we have an opportunity to see Oprah say a few words that strike joy and laughter into the hearts of millions: “You get a car!”

The way that it happened was even more incredible than the moment itself. Oprah was on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last night in promotion of her new film “The Butler,” and a minute or so into the interview while talking about her co-stars she suddenly gets the urge to do something. She then brings down some random young woman from the audience, and then brings back her most memorable line from an “Oprah’s Favorite Things” episode of her talk show.

While this was obviously planned to a certain degree, Kimmel and company did a pretty great job of playing it off, with the host acting shocked that there was even a car to give away. All of this works mostly to help Oprah’s image as this sort of egomaniac who really doesn’t have much of a sense of humor; she clearly is a very smart woman, and knows what to do to bring great publicity onto herself and one of her current projects. It’s a funny video! Not only that, but someone actually benefited from it in getting a car. You can’t beat that.

Oprah’s movie opens this weekend; meanwhile, Kimmel’s show is on every weeknight. In between this video and him earlier this week roasting Justin Bieber for his bizarre spectacle in front of his grandmother, he’s having quite a week.
